Introduction To CR
CR material description
Introduction
A synthetic rubber that resists degradation from sun, ozone, and weather.
It performs well in contact with oils and many chemicals.
Neoprene remains useful over a wide temperature range, displays outstanding physical toughness, and resists burning inherently better than exclusively hydrocarbon rubbers.
Neoprene also offers resistance to damage caused by flexing and twisting. Suggested operating temperature (-45° to 230° F).
Trade names include Neoprene (DuPont Dow), Baypren® (Mobay), and Butachlor® (Ditsugil).
| relative density | Hardness (Shore A) | Tensile strength (MPa) | Elongation(%) | Operating temperature range (° F) |
| 1.23 | 20~90 | 6.89 ~ 27.56 | 100~700 | -45° to 230° F |
Performance

The appearance is milky white, beige or light brown flakes or lumps, which are elastomers generated by the α-polymerization of chloroprene (i.e. 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene) as the main raw material.
The solubility parameters of neoprene accounted for δ=9.2~9.41.
It has good physical and mechanical properties, oil resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance, sunlight resistance, ozone resistance, acid and alkali resistance, inorganic acid resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical reagent resistance.
It has high tensile strength, elongation and reversible crystallinity, and good adhesion.
The decomposition temperature is 230~260 °C, short-term resistance to 120~150 °C, and long-term use at 80~100 °C, with certain flame retardancy.
Application industry
CR122 neoprene: transmission belts, transport belts, wires and cables, oil-resistant rubber plates, oil-resistant hoses, sealing materials and other rubber products.
CR232 neoprene: cable sheath, oil-resistant hose, rubber seals, adhesives, etc.
Neoprene type CR2441 2442: raw material for adhesive production, used for bonding metal, wood, rubber, leather and other materials.
CR321 322 neoprene: cables, rubber sheets, ordinary and oil-resistant hoses, oil-resistant rubber boots, wind tubes, rain cloths, tent cloths, conveyor belts, conveyor belts, rubber seals, agricultural capsule air cushions, lifeboats, etc. It is used as a flexibilizer for modified acrylate fast structural adhesives (SGA).
