    Styrene-butadiene rubber, abbreviated SBR, is an abbreviation for Polymerized Styrene Butadiene Rubber.

    Styrene-butadiene rubber is the backbone product of the rubber industry, is the largest general synthetic rubber variety, and is also one of the earliest synthetic rubber varieties to achieve industrial production.

    According to the polymerization process, styrene-butadiene rubber is divided into emulsion polystyrene-butadiene rubber (ESBR) and dissolved polystyrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR).

    Compared to the dissolved styrene-butadiene rubber process, the emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber process is more cost-effective, and about 75% of the global capacity of styrene-butadiene rubber plants is based on the emulsion polystyrene-butadiene rubber process.

    Emulsion polystyrene-butadiene rubber has good comprehensive properties, mature technology, wide range of applications, and the capacity, output and consumption occupy the first place in styrene-butadiene rubber.

    Physical properties

    Oil resistance:

    Styrene-butadiene rubber contains benzene rings in its molecules, which can resist the erosion of a variety of lubricating oils and fuels, so it is widely used in automobiles, machinery and other fields.

    Cold resistance:

    Because its molecule contains a benzene ring, the glass transition temperature of styrene-butadiene rubber is very low, showing good cold resistance, and still has excellent elasticity in low temperature environment.

    Heat resistance:

    The benzene ring of styrene-butadiene rubber makes it highly heat-resistant and can be used for a long time at high temperatures.

    Ozone resistance:

    Styrene-butadiene rubber contains benzene rings in molecules, which can effectively resist ozone erosion, so as to have good ozone resistance
