Introduction To NBR
NBR Material Description
Introduction
Nitrile rubber (NBR) is a copolymer formed by the polymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene monomer, mainly produced by low-temperature emulsion polymerization, excellent oil resistance, high wear resistance, good heat resistance and strong adhesion.
Nitrile rubber is mainly used in the manufacture of oil-resistant rubber products. The content of acrylonitrile in nitrile rubber (%) is 42~46, 36~41, 31~35, 25~30, 18~24 and other five kinds.
The higher the acrylonitrile content, the better the oil resistance, but the corresponding decrease in cold resistance.
It has become an indispensable elastic material in the automotive, aviation, petroleum, photocopying and other industries.
Trade names include Breon® (BP Chemicals), Chemigum® (Goodyear), Hycar® (B F Goodrich), Krynac® (Polysar Ltd.), Nipol® (Zeon Chemicals), Nysyn® NBR, (DSM Elastomers), Paracril® (Uniroyal Chemical), and Perbunan® (Mobay).

Application areas
In addition, it has good water resistance, air tightness and excellent adhesion properties. Widely used in the production of various oil-resistant rubber products, a variety of oil-resistant gaskets, gaskets, casings, flexible packaging, soft hoses, printing and dyeing rollers, cable adhesive materials, etc., in the automotive, aviation, petroleum, copying and other industries have become an indispensable elastic material.
Nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance, its oil resistance is second only to polysulfide rubber and fluororubber, and has wear resistance and air tightness.
Main uses
Nitrile rubber is mainly used to make oil-resistant products, such as oil-resistant pipes, tapes, rubber diaphragms and large oil bags, etc., often used to make all kinds of oil-resistant molded products, such as O-rings, oil seals, leather bowls, diaphragms, valves, bellows, etc., and also used to make rubber plates and wear-resistant parts.
Combination of nitrile rubber
Nitrile rubber has a very strong polarity, and the compatibility with other polymers is generally not very good, but it has good compatibility with neoprene, modified phenolic resin, polyvinyl chloride and other highly polar polymers, especially with chlorine-containing polymers, and is often used together.
